Pharmacogenomic Testing
Genetic insight into how you metabolize medication, so treatment fits you from the start.
What the test looks at
Pharmacogenomic testing examines genes involved in how your body processes medication. Two people on an identical dose can metabolize it very differently, and that difference can shape both how well a medication works and which side effects show up.
How we use the results
Results inform prescribing; they do not replace it. A report narrows the field and flags where caution is warranted, and it is read alongside your history, your symptoms, and how you have responded to medication in the past.
It is one input into a plan we still build with you, and still adjust over time.
Who tends to ask about it
It comes up most often with people who have tried several medications without a clear result, or who have had strong side effects at ordinary doses.
If you are curious whether it would tell us anything useful in your case, raise it at your evaluation.
Insurance
We accept Aetna, Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health, Ascension Health, UnitedHealthcare, Optum Rx, alongside straightforward self-pay options. If you’re unsure whether your plan is covered, reach out and we’ll help verify your benefits.
