Built around the young person
Adolescents are not small adults, and the visit is not a shortened version of an adult appointment. We give young people room to speak for themselves while keeping family informed and involved.
Care for younger patients is arranged with a parent or guardian involved from the start, including consent and scheduling.
What parents can expect
The first appointment is a comprehensive evaluation covering history, school and home life, and what prompted the referral. From there we build a plan together, which may include medication, therapy, or both.
You will know what is being prescribed and why, and what we are watching for between visits.
Scheduling around school
Secure video visits make it easier to fit an appointment around a school day, and in-person care is available at our Hialeah office when that is the better fit.
